The tree is one of the most ancient symbols of humanity. Of course, trees have been living on Earth for millions of years, we should have things to learn from them. Nowadays, through science, we know trees play an essential part in the balance of life, but they have been a symbol of life and growth for ages. The deeper the roots go, the higher the tree grows. In order to reach the skies, you have to be well-grounded. This is a lesson easily learned by anyone who looks for life as an opportunity of improvement. Our ancestors did that and realized great and profound works concerning the spiritual ways, be it through religion or through philosophy. Hermes Trismegistus, a wiseman from ancient Egypt, wrote “As above, so below” as one of the seven laws that rule the universe and I chose the tree to represent this piece of wisdom. There’s so much knowledge bequeathed to us by past masters. I hope we can learn from them and pass it on to future generations.
